Kanha’s New Sour Edibles Promise to Hit Hard and Make Faces Pucker

Tang and chemical-free extraction of rosin reflect market demand, Kanha said.

Kanha, an edible producer who advertises its gummies as vegan and fast-acting, is celebrating a decade in business with the release of three new rosin-produced flavors and immersive events.

The manufacturer promises that the tang of Sour Berry Bliss, Sour Island Breeze and Sour Melon Rush makes faces pucker. In its press release, Kanha stated two data sets led to its decisions to lean into a tart profile for its anniversary and to produce the edibles with rosin, a cannabis concentrate extracted from the plant without using chemicals.

“Rosin sours represents everything that we stand for – purity, quality and true to plant effects,” said Cameron Clarke, CEO and co-founder of Sunderstorm, Kanha’s parent company. “We’ve always believed that nature does it best, and this product proves that you don’t need chemicals or solvents to create something powerful, delicious, and clean.”

Procuring rosin naturally from cannabis material involves putting the plant parts in a filtering mesh and then applying pressure to the contents while heating the material to 250 °, according to Matthew DeBacco, a University of Connecticut professor who taught the first cannabis horticulture college level course in the country.

Rosin can contain more than 80% of THC, the marijuana element that produces a high. Rosin’s level of THC concentration and its use in Kanha’s three new flavors align with Kanha’s slogan, “Hits Hard Fast.”

Without using solvents or chemicals to retrieve rosin, the “vegan sour gummies deliver a clean, powerful high that honors the integrity of the plant,” Kanha’s press release states.

The new flavors come in packets of 10, with 10 mg of THC each. Kanha’s statement said the gummies are produced with “fast-acting nano emulsion technology that hits in 15 minutes or less” and offers five times greater absorption and an onset that is three times faster than other edibles.

Along with the three sour flavors, Kanha will host Kanha Bliss Sessions. The events strive to reflect the brand’s foundation, which the company describes as cannabis, creativity and community.

The events will be a curated music and cultural series that celebrates the striking nature of the sour flavor profile, self expression and an appreciation of cannabis culture.

“Community has always been core to our brand, especially the budtenders and retailers who bring our products to consumers,” said Angela Cheng, chief marketing officer. “As we celebrate 10 years of bliss, we’re honoring the people who’ve made the journey meaningful—our retail partners, budtenders, and loyal fans who’ve shared, supported, and savored Kanha every step of the way.”
