M&M’s maker Mars has joined the ranks of food and beverage companies partnering with studios and movie makers to grab the attention and dollars of fans of films they hope will be a summer blockbuster.
In advance of the “Jurassic World Rebirth” July 2 premiere, the candy maker is releasing M&M’s Mega Peanut Butter packs. The limited edition snacks come in three different bags featuring images of Jurassic’s Mosasaurus, Titanosaurus or Quetzalcoatlus.
But the special packs aren’t everywhere – only at MMS.com and specific retailers.
“At Mars, we’re always looking for new, exciting ways to connect with our fans, and the partnership between M&M’S and “Jurassic World Rebirth” delivers just that,” says Martin Terwilliger, marketing vice president, Mars Wrigley North America. “By bringing together our iconic candy brand with an iconic franchise like “Jurassic World,” we’re creating a colorfully fun experience for moviegoers and candy lovers alike.”
The Mars partnership with Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment is the second snack collab announced this month. Those movie producers and distributors also inked a deal with 7-Eleven. The convenience store company’s Jurassic World Rebirth partnership includes themed snacks, giveaways, collectible drink ware, and three takeovers at locations in Los Angeles, New York and Beavercreek, Ohio.
As for the M&Ms collab, in addition to dino-themed packaging, it offers chocolate-loving dinosaur fans new content from, and cameos of, the anthropomorphic spokescandies. Members of the M&Ms Fun Club can participate in challenges, like submitting a photo of the three different candy bags, to earn points redeemable for prizes.

If you’re curious about the “Jurassic World Rebirth’s” plot, a covert op (Scarlett Johansson), her team member (Mahershala Ali) and a Big Pharma rep (Martin Krebs) plan to sneak onto an island overrun with forgotten dinosaurs.
They want to retrieve some DNA from the large lizards that could lead to medical breakthroughs. Their secret mission leads to them crossing paths with an adventurous family whose boat capsized.
