G-Shock Presents Its Newest, Strongest Timepieces at COUTURE

Casio MRG-B2100B

Must See

Casio America has selected three luxury timepieces that incorporate a centuries-old wood interlocking technique, including two that incorporate a Japanese alloy that’s four times stronger than titanium, to showcase during COUTURE 2025.

The MRGB2100B, is the newest edition to the premium MR-G collection and is made from cobarion, a cobalt-chromium based alloy known for its hardness, strength and a gleam that rivals platinum. It’s the kind of piece for which COUTURE is known to present.

Wynn Las Vegas hosts the annual event that caters to top-tier retailers and respected jewelry and timepiece brands.

In addition to MRGB2100B, MRGB2100R-2A and MRGB2100D-1A round out Casio’s headliners for the five-day showcase. All three models meld the engineering G-SHOCK is known for and the aesthetic of kigumi, a method used to interlock wood without using nails and that dates back to at least 300 BCE.

The latticework on the striking blue face of the MRGB2100R-2A reflects the foundation of kigumi and the inky color draws from the Japanese deep blue ao-zumi ink used in calligraphy.

MRGB2100D-1A’s bezel top is made from cobarion as well as another extra hard metal that offers more scratch resistance and produces a mirror-like smooth finish.

Among COUTURE’s discriminating retailers that include Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, Casio also will feature two of its digital icons – the MRGB5000B-1 and MRGB5000D-1.

MRGB5000B-1 boasts a 25-part bezel, and MRGB5000D-1’s distinct look comes from its brick-pattern face bordered by a red line.

During COUTURE, Casio also will debut its initiative that expands the brand’s presence. Making Art with MR-G engages contemporary artists to reimagine Casio’s collection through a creative lens. And Genta Ishizuka, known for using lacquer to sculpt, is the first artist in the series developed to push creative expression to new levels.
