At Puma, “Go Wild” means “Be You.” Authentic. Courageous. And on the heels of its recent campaign launch, the German-based footwear brand has added a “Go Wild Podcast” to amplify its message of bold self-expression and the joys of sport.
Renowned hurdle and sprint legend Colin Jackson hosted Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, in the first episode that had the feel of a casual and respectful locker room discussion.
Bolt candidly shared that he believes his “wild child” personality changed the face of track and field. “I wasn’t the typical show-up-at-the-blocks-focused type of person,” he said. “I was always the type of person to come out and talk to the young kids… and I’ll be dancing. I’ll be vibing.”
The 30-minute sit-down was equally playful and transparent as listeners gained insights into the track star’s triumphs, breakthroughs and disappointments.
The podcast allows an audience to “delve deeper into Puma’s brand DNA, told through the lens of inspiring individuals who truly embody Puma’s philosophy,” said Julie Legrand, Puma’s global senior director brand strategy and communication. “At Puma, we want to champion the individuals who have the courage to be themselves….”
Amanal Petros, one of the world’s best distance runners, talked about his ascent from being a refugee in Germany to becoming a marathon record holder in the podcast’s second episode.
In the latest “Go Wild” segment, elite marathoner Rose Harvey discussed leaving her law career to pursue sport. Her take? Running isn’t about racing. It’s the freedom it produces.
Each episode will become part of a comprehensive Go Wild series, which will feature full-length video interviews and content from major events such as the Women’s Football Euro Championship and the Boston Marathon.
