Honda has committed to being a founding partner to support athletes competing in the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. Additionally, the carmaker will be the official automotive partner and pace vehicle for endurance events.

In both capacities, Honda will collaborate with the Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, known as LA28, to provide an accessible vehicle fleet and mobility products.

Transportation options consists of a range of Honda vehicles including scooters, ATVs and side-by-sides, electric vehicles such as the Honda 0 Series and Acura RSX, motorcycles, e-scooters and Honda Marine engines.

The wide assortment of vehicles will be necessary to move thousands of Olympic stakeholders, athletes and officials across Southern California. Competitions will take place across a 35-mile radius from fairgrounds in Pomona, to surfing in San Clemente to the San Fernando Valley and Venice Beach.

“In 2028, thousands of athletes will descend on Los Angeles to chase their Olympic and Paralympic dreams. LA28 and Honda share a belief in the power of those dreams – and in the ability of the Games to inspire people everywhere to reach for excellence,” said Casey Wasserman, LA28 chairperson and president.

Honda’s investment extends beyond transportation. The brand, which has had a Los Angeles presence since 1959, committed to give organizations that assist people in developing their potential $1 million during the next four years. That’s in addition to the $16 million Honda is donating to support groups that advance traffic safety, education, mobility, community programs and the environment.

“Few events embody perseverance, self-belief, the spirit of competition and the pursuit of excellence like the Olympic and Paralympic Games – qualities that align with the longstanding Honda global brand slogan, ‘The Power of Dreams – how we move you‘,” said Kazuhiro Takizawa, American Honda president & CEO. “The dreams of Honda associates serve as the driving force of our company, leading Honda to take on challenges to create a freedom of mobility that moves people physically, while also moving them emotionally.”

The automotive brand’s dedication to athletes has existed for years. At the Paris 2024 Olympics, Global Honda sponsored three Paralympians. And for almost 40 years, the company sponsored the Collegiate Women Sports Awards and the Honda Cup.
